Graphic & Interactive Design

Why Study Graphics & Interactive Design

The faculty and curriculum in the department of Graphic & Interactive Design provide an equitable and inclusive learning experience. We are committed to teaching through an antiracist lens that empowers students to create visual designs that promote racial justice and take action for equity and positive change in our world. We are committed to providing every student a learning environment free of racism, sexism, and other forms of bigotry while maintaining open lines of communication that provide a safe space for students to seek support.

Graphic & Interactive design gives you the chance to create a better world.  Graphic & Interactive Design students, and the professionals they become, create visual communications that are vehicles to drive change through promoting and sharing information. Graphic & Interactive Design is used to create ideas that can be shared with the world through media like websites, videos, posters, flyers, merchandise, apps, social media campaigns. We believe when students learn to express themselves in any medium, they will find their voice and find new ways to make an impact in school and in their world. The students of today are the ones with the new ideas for whatever challenges come next.

The Students of Graphic & Interactive Design program include diverse racial and ethnic identities, nationalities, immigration status, gender expressions, socio-economic backgrounds, religions, ages and health conditions. Our students come from various life experiences and have different needs. The department faculty acknowledges and recognizes the diverse life experiences and needs of our students and strives to include diverse voices and perspectives and provide every student with the resources, guidance and support that they need to ensure their success not only in the classroom but in the world beyond.
