The Problem

The US operates some of the largest landfills globally, producing hazardous greenhouse gases and toxic runoff. Most individuals want to practice sustainable waste disposal but lack the time, knowledge, or convenient access to proper facilities. 

The Solution

An intuitive mobile application that utilizes AI image recognition to identify sustainable disposal methods upon input. The app connects users directly with third-party partners to pick up and mindfully handle residential household waste.

• Started with a strong concept but no team, structured plan, or clear direction.
• Connected students across disciplines to form a balanced founding team.
• Matched with an industry mentor to define minimum viable product (MVP) milestones and app design.

The Problem

In competitive environments (like esports, athletics, and intense study), mental fatigue causes invisible drops in focus, reaction time, and consistency鈥攜et traditional training only tracks mechanics and surface stats rather than real-time brain state.

The Solution

Lightweight headset hardware integrated with non-invasive EEG sensors that capture electrical brain activity. Custom chips perform on-board signal filtering and AI analysis to deliver real-time guidance when attention drops.

The Launchpad Journey

• Sparked from an initial concept to solve mental fatigue in competitive esports.
• Validated through hardware prototyping and initial testing with 10 student participants.
• Matched with a dedicated Launchpad mentor (a former Intel executive with 15 years in tech commercialization) to guide pathing from prototype to product.
