If you completed Chemistry 20 or 25, OR the equivalent at another college/university OR received an AP Chemistry score of a 3, or higher, you may be able to submit a prerequisite clearance request to clear the chemistry prerequisite.

NOTE: You can also submit a prerequisite clearance request to clear the math prerequisite if you have eligible college courses and/or AP scores.

If you cannot clear the math prerequisite through evaluations and you do not have a math placement through us, you will need to request one by emailing the Assessment Office at fhtesting@fhda.edu.

If you completed chemistry at a U.S. high school, you may be able to clear the chemistry prerequisite for Chemistry 1A by completing a short online survey.

Please read the requirements below to see if you are eligible for Option 2:

1. Completed 1 year (2 semesters) of chemistry at a U.S. high school
2. Received a letter grade of a C, or higher, for both semesters
3. The chemistry course taken must have included a lab component
4. Submit an unofficial PDF copy of your high school transcript (or confirm that Admissions and Records has a copy of your official high school transcript on file).
